Situated at foot of ski-slopes/alpine meadows in the tranquil, picturesque village of Pelvoux, 20 miles SW of Briancon in the upper reaches of the lovely Vallouise valley, bordering Les Ecrins National Park. Would suit 4-5 people.

Appartment comprises living room (with sofa-bed), well-equipped kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom (bath & shower), separate WC, hall, ski lock-up and off-road parking. The south-facing french windows open onto a large private terrace and lawn.

Location

Winter Pelvoux ski station is 500m from appartment (ski school, chairlift, tow-bars, internet cafe, 'Sherpa' food shop & restaurants) Downhill and cross-country skiing trails, quad bikes, husky sleigh-rides, 20 mins. from Puy St.Vincent ski resort (its own night-clubs and restaurants) free valley bus.

Location

Summer Alpine meadows up to glaciers, wildlife, serenity, valley and high- level hiking trails up to mountain huts, rock-climbing,'via ferrata' gorge climbing, white-water activities (kayaking), riding, cycling (excellent for Tour de France). Pelvoux averages 300 days of sunshine a year.

To reach Pelvoux Ryanair flight London Stansted to Grenoble (approx. 2 and a half hours by car over Col de Lautaret Easyjet flight Luton to Turin (2 hours by car) Choice of reasonable hire cars at airports (best to order on-line beforehand) Train to Argentiere-La Bessee from London, Paris, Grenoble etc.
